During this session, Angelo Spinola will take a deep dive on the 
legislative issues and updates that are impacting home care on a 
national and local level. In addition to the legislative updates, he will discuss 
litigation trends in the industry as it relates to COVID-19, critical things to consider in the post-pandemic business world, as well as tools and
 resources home care agencies should leverage to ensure they are
 compliant both federally and locally in this volatile legislative landscape

Brent Korte is the Chief Home Care officer at Evergreen Health Home Care in Kirkland, WA. Evergreen was on the frontline of the pandemic as it
 experienced the first recordable cases of COVID-19 in the U.S.This session will give insight to the first response to the pandemic and how you continue to work to fight the pandemic in your agency as well as regular business continuation.

infection control survey preparedness:
Speaker: Mary McGoldrick MS, RN, CRNI

Prepare your agency for an infection control focused survey and all 
components to ensure survey preparedness and excellent infection control practices. Mary has served as a subject matter expert on the CDC-HICPAC and Association for Professionals
in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Committee to develop the surveillance definitions
for the home health and hospice industry, on The Joint Commission’s (TJC) Expert Advisory Panel
to update TJCs home care infection control standards, and the Community Health Accreditation
Partner‘s (CHAP) subcommittee to update the CHAP infection control standards.


covid-19 and emergency operations:
Speaker: Greg Brooks MSW, HCA

The session will be a review of the CMS Standards for an Emergency Preparedness Plan. It will move beyond that into a
specific discussion of how the COVID 19 pandemic has changed our approach to our Emergency Preparedness Plans, one
example being how the way we approach an All Hazards Vulnerability Assessment has definitely changed and will demand
review due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. Additionally, we will discuss the importance that COVID 19 has placed on our
Emergency Preparedness Plans and Emergency Operations Procedures being tied in with other operational pieces of our
agencies including our Infection Control Programs and our Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Programs.
